Book Review: The Canterville Ghost

Author: Oscar Wilde

I am a product of Utah’s public schools, followed by an academic focus in the social sciences, so my exposure to the world of literature is limited. Which is an indirect way of saying that although I had heard of Oscar Wilde, this was the very first time I’ve read anything he wrote.

Wow, waiting this long was a huge mistake.

This novella is funny, engaging, and clever. I loved every page. I gather that’s not uncommon in his works, and I will definitely seek out more of what he’s written.

I read a lovely holiday edition published by Daunt Books (purchased at their Fulham Road location, which is charming in and of itself) but I understand that this story is widely available in many formats. Highly recommended.

I do not accept advertising, but the Amazon want you to know that some links may contain affiliate codes that dangle the promise of earning me a few pennies towards running this site (at no additional expense to you). Humbly, Gordon Meyer
