No Longer Wet Behind the Years

Although I stopped updating it a while ago, my previous blog Wet Behind the Years is now about to disappear. (I'm letting my Userland Radio license expire.)

Although much of what is there is of little historical interest, a few items about Tinderbox, home automation, and other tips get a fair amount of traffic. Those links will all be broken soon, when Userland pulls the plug for non-payment.

If you've ended up here, via the magic of Goggle, and want to see those old pages, please let me know. I'll see what I can do about migrating content to this new site if demand warrants the effort. Thanks.

Robin at Ambiguous wants a USB Ouija Board. Well, me too! I collect both Ouija Boards and USB devices (heh, who doesn't?) so that's a perfect combo that I wish I'd thought of first.

Tinderbox keeps on ticking

Tinderbox 2.2 is out, and not only does it pave the way to an eventual Windows release (for the other 95% of you), it also adds some nifty features and improvement. Yet another reason I have this app as a login item, it's nearly as important to me as my email program.

CID via your BT Phone

I use PhoneValet to integrate Caller ID (CID) info into my home automation system, but if I didn't have it already settled, I'd definitely look into BluePhoneMenu 1.0. In fact, I might do so anyway, since it would provide notification of calls to my cell. Or, it would if you could execute an AppleScript when a call comes in.

Data logger

MacMinute notes a new remote data logger that's Mac OS X compatible. While it may be too pricey for casual use, it's great to have another data acquisition option for home automation.

Automated Living

This article isn't exactly new, but it's a fun introduction to the various types of gadgets and tools that make living in an automated home so sweet.
